And the benefit is multiplied if the electricity powering the cart’s batteries draws from the power grid like solar and hydropower. This will generally depend on where the cart owner or region gets its power.

Unlike gas powered engines in other carts, the battery cells in electric golf carts also help reduce noise pollution.  Battery cells are extremely quiet. They are perfect for discreet, peaceful travel around your property or on the golf course. In fact, there is a reduction of smells, smoke, and mess as well. 

Electric is Better for Health and Air Quality

Less CO2 means cleaner air which is always good for our health. A high concentration of CO2 can displace oxygen in the air which can lead to health issues such as  rapid breathing, rapid heart rate, clumsiness, emotional upsets and fatigue can result. Inhalation of excessive amounts of CO2 can cause blood vessels in the extremities constrict, restricting blood flow to these parts of the body.

According to a 2010 report by a Canadian multiagency environmental group, if all the golf courses within 100 kilometers (about 62 miles) of Toronto switched to electric carts, they’d save as much carbon as taking 155 mid-size cars off the road.
