E-Z-GO is a well-known golf cart manufacturer with many models in gas and electric options. In this article, we will take you through the history and different models of the brand.

History of the E-Z-GO Golf Cart

EZGO was started by two brothers, Billie and Beverly Dolan, in 1954. Later on, they sold the company to the current owners, Textron Company. Both brothers continued to work with Textron until 1978. Currently, E-Z-GO headquarters is based in Augusta, Georgia.

Started in a small machine shop, the E-Z-GO company has upgraded throughout the years to a huge state-of-art facility. They have maintained the position of one of the most popular golf cart manufacturers in the world today. E-Z-GO has created an image of a hybrid technology leader in the golf cart industry by combining gas and electric options.

List of EZGO Golf Cart Models

1. 2Five (2009 to Present)

The 2Five model is an LSV designed to be street legal and comes with a title of ownership. This model is ready to make your life easy and fun. The 2Five golf cart is excellent for beach communities, side streets, and residential areas. The model offers balanced convenience, safety, and environmental responsibility.

  • Electric windshield wipers
  • 3-point seat belts
  • Headlights and tail lights
  • Turn signals

2. RXV (2008 to Present)

Available Models - Fleet, Freedom, and Shuttle 2+2

The E-Z-GO RXV golf cart is designed to help you live larger. The Freedom RXV model comes with upgraded features, such as independent front suspension, a spacious dash, and an automatic parking brake. The RXV golf cart model provides efficient performance and a host of upgraded features.

  • Single seat back
  • Plastic body
  • Double headlights and vertical taillights
  • Fixed rear seat

3. MPT (2004 to Present)

The MPT golf cart model is the predecessor to the Workhorse, designed mainly for commercial and industrial use. It looks very similar to the 1990's style Dodge Pickup truck.

  • Square shaped front nose with two light holes
  • Single rectangular seat back
  • 54" top with handles
  • Non lifted
  • Double headlights
  • Cargo bed or box on the rear

4. ST (1999 - Present) 

The E-Z-GO ST model was designed for the person looking for a vehicle to drive around their property, farm or just around the town.

ST Features

  • Square shaped front nose with two light holes
  • Single seat back
  • 54" top with handles
  • Lifted vehicles with 20' tires or larger

5. New TXT (2014 to Present)

Available Models - Fleet, Freedom, Shuttle 2+2

The E-Z-GO TXT golf cart combines reliability with industry-leading performance to deliver a smooth ride and efficiency.

New TXT Features

  • Plastic body
  • Single seat back
  • 54" top with handles
  • No black plastic nose cap
  • 1' front roof supports

6. TXT (1996 to Present)

Available Models - Fleet, Freedom, Shuttle 2+2

TXT golf cart models have sloped front cowl and have a single light bar parallel to the ground.

TXT Features

  • Plastic body
  • Single seat back
  • 54" top with handles
  • No black plastic nose cap
  • DCS, PDS, & Series or 295cc 4 cycle & 400cc Kawasaki 4 cycle

7. Workhorse (1996 to 2003)

The Workhorse golf cart is designed for commercial and industrial use, which is indicative of the model's name.

8. Medalist (1993 to 1999)

9. Marathon (1975 to 1993)

The Marathon model golf cart brought in a new era and technology. The model was a great success. Its particular features included a metal body with a front plastic nose part, individual seating, and no handles.

10. Terrain (2012 to Present) 

Available Models - Terrain 250, 500, 1000, and 1500
